by Meg for everyone
I have an extremely rudimentary knowledge of RSS feeds and I'm currently stumped on a problem I'm trying to solve.

Though my mom signed up to join multiply, she never gets on. I've made a start page for her (on my comcast account) and in the upper right hand corner I have a link that says, "Pictures Meg has posted of the kids". If she clicks on it she'll end up at my photo page here on multiply. And at least she's able to see the private stuff because she remains signed on to multiply when she's using her computer.

But I recently discovered that she never clicks on that link (unless I'm at her house, click on it for her and show her that there's new pictures there).

So what I'd like to do is put some sort of feed onto her page that would Show her that there's new pictures. I'd preferably like to have something that I can install on her current page (so I don't have to go over to her house and change her preferences to use a new start page. If I'm only making changes to her start page, I can do that from my house.)

So I thought that at the very least I could toss an RSS feed onto her start page from my photos page and two problems have hit me. #1 there's no little RSS button on my photos page. ... i thought you used to be able to RSS out just parts of a person's site. i don't want her to have an RSS feed to my entire site because most of it doesn't interest her. And if she sees mostly stuff she's not interested in, then she'll stop paying attention to that entire part of her start page and miss all the stuff she Would be interested on. and #2 it dawned on me that I know how to add a feed to my google page, but i have no clue how to add one to a plain old regular normal page i've made. i assume i need some sort of reader to insert in there but i don't even know if that sort of thing exists. (i should think it would. makes sense.)

help!!!

BTW: if one of the admins here could add a search gizmo to the welcome message here, i'd appreciate it. i would fiddle with it myself but ... well, i don't want to. i'd love to have been able to search the group for previous RSS discussions but didn't know how to do it. i used the multiply search engine and it gave me far too many posts that i wasn't interested in that i couldn't find any that helped. and i looked through the tags here and there wasn't an RSS tag until i added the one for this post. :-P
